Santa Monica to pay $350,000 to family of displaced Black entrepreneur as part of larger reparations effort

As part of a larger reparations effort, the city has agreed to settle a claim filed by the family of a Black entrepreneur who invested in opening a Black hotel and beach club in the 1950s.
